Work Injury / Occupational Health Treatment

Work related injuries are most frequently musculoskeletal in nature.  The scope of these problems can be found elsewhere in the Spine Care and General Musculoskeletal sections of this website.  Effective treatment of work related injuries requires excellent communication between the physician, injured worker, employer and any additional members of the treatment team.

Treatment should be closely coordinated with other treating professionals.  It should be goal oriented and focused on function to enable the injured worker to return to work as safely and quickly as possible.  Where possible, treatment should be designed to help the worker regain the full ability to meet the physical demands of the job to which he will return.  The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician is uniquely suited to coordinate and direct such a program.
